Code of Conduct for IGCP 683
During any of our IGCP 683 activities, we are committed to the following guidelines:
Examples of Good Behavior:
- Use welcoming and inclusive language
- Be respectful of different viewpoints and experiences
- Gracefully accept constructive criticism
- Focus on what is best for the community
- Show courtesy and respect towards other participants, irrespective of seniority or background
Examples of Unacceptable Behavior:
- Written or verbal comments which have the effect of excluding people on the basis of membership of any specific group
- Causing someone to fear for their safety, such as through bullying, harassment, discrimination, stalking, following, or intimidation
- Violent threats or language directed against another person
- The display of sexual or violent images
- Unwelcome sexual attention
- Sustained disruption of talks, events or communications
- Insults or put-downs, overly aggressive questioning
- Sexist, racist, homophobic, transphobic, ableist, or exclusionary jokes or comments
- Excessive swearing
- Incitement to violence, suicide, or self-harm
- Continuing to initiate interaction (including photography or recording) with someone after being asked to stop
- Publication of private communication without consent
- Sharing of conference videos or pictures of conference videos without the consent of the presenter
Consequences of Unacceptable Behavior: Participants who are asked to stop any inappropriate behavior are expected to comply immediately. If a participant engages in behavior that violates this Code of Conduct, IGCP 683 leaders and/or IGCP 683 event organizers may intervene in the following or other ways as appropriate:
- Warn the offender
- Ask the offender to leave an IGCP 683 event
- Interrupt an offending presentation, question or answer
- Engage professional societies (where involved) to investigate the Code of Conduct violation and impose appropriate sanctions
